The Hoop Chronicle is a site all about basketball: NBA, NCAA, YouTubers, Streetballers, Podcasters, Pro dunkers, maybe even the Suburban Dads League. If it has to do with basketball and we find it interesting, we’ll likely write about it here.

That said, we’re born and bred in the ATL and are first and foremost Atlanta Hawks fans. Even though we discuss other teams, fair warning: coverage will skew favorably toward the Hawks.
Despite our bias, we hope that as you read through these posts, our love for the game will shine through, and you’ll find a little enjoyment and respite from the hubbub of daily life.
We’re not a breaking news site (at least not yet). For that, you can look to Bleacher Report or ESPN or Twitter. Though we’ll also discuss the latest basketball goings-on, we lean more toward deep dives, analysis, human-interest, and history around the players, the teams, and the game in general.

In this age of robot writing and soulless content slop churned out by increasingly scary machines, we promise that our posts are written by real people. The point of The Hoop Chronicle is to learn everything we can about the game and write about it ourselves, hopefully entertaining our readers and having fun along the way. We don’t believe that the creative drive should be outsourced to a prompt and a button click.
Finally, there’s a lot of negativity out there. We realize that the players we talk about are just people, and by and large (sorry LeBron), very young people. It’s not our place to judge them too harshly or to write overly negative things. We might analyze the way someone has played in a given game, but we won’t be cruelly critical or question a player’s character. In this, we’re very much of the man-in-the-arena mindset.
